ABOUT THE PRESIDENT
Marc Johnston, President and CEO of JEM Construction Group, LLC has decades of experience in the design, planning and building of complex custom construction projects. Marc has built countless numbers of exceptional custom homes and residential remodels including additions, in-law suites, kitchen, basement and bath remodels. Historical renovations are also in Marc’s portfolio of projects. Marc has extensive experience in the development and building of complex commercial projects, including apartments, restaurants, sports bars, office and retail space.
Marc is an accomplished craftsman himself. He performed much of the hands-on day to day framing carpentry and trim carpentry and cabinet work for many years early on in his career. Marc takes great pride in his continuing commitment to be at the job site on a regular basis. Marc spends a good deal of his free time in his woodworking shop. He is an accomplished maker of furniture and hand carved working, wooden waterfowl decoys.
Marc is a native of Harford County. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business from Towson University. He has earned multiple trade certificates including being designated as a Certified Aging in Place Designer Specialist from NAHB CAPS. A Certified WEDI Tile Shower System Expert. He holds a ZOTA Certified Lead Renovator Certificate as well. He has been very involved in the local business community since the 1970’s. He has contributed his time to many local building projects and continues to give back to the community by supporting local causes and various local charities.
ABOUT THE SENIOR VP
Andrew Heeter, Senior Vice President of Operations for JEM Construction Group, LLC, has worked in the building industry for over 25 years. In 1999 Andrew left a career in education for a sales role with Thulman Eastern, providing pre-engineered fireplaces and surrounds to new home builders. It was during this time that Marc and Andrew met. Some 20 years later their paths crossed again in similar fashion, building material representative and builder, meeting on a job site. Before partnering with JEM, Andrew ran his own construction company, Arete Trim Works, LLC. Playing a pivotal role in the strategic decisions and operations for JEM Construction Group he is doing what he loves alongside his friend and mentor Marc Johnston.
ABOUT THE CFO
Samantha Slater serves as Chief Financial Officer through her firm, JPS Business Solutions, LLC. With over 14 years of experience in accounting and financial management, she specializes in supporting construction and service-based businesses with strategic financial oversight. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Penn College and works closely with leadership teams to strengthen financial reporting, improve cash flow management, and implement systems that support scalable growth.
ABOUT THE OFFICE MANAGER
Lori Pearch, JEM’s Office Manager, is the wizard behind the curtain. She started training horses as a teenager while living in New York. As a trainer for over 2 decades, she learned the importance of keeping meticulous records which eventually led her to a position in the field of nursing. As a nurse’s assistant she once again honed her record keeping skills. Eventually she landed in her current role within the construction industry. 40 years later she is keeping the JEM team organized and our customers happy.
